Zune, An Exceptional Product

Zune Insider has the latest on Microsoft's music player-

Today on the earnings call Microsoft announced that Zune has achieved our goal of one million units sold in, as well as Microsoft earning over $50 billion in annual revenue. We actually went above and beyond our goal: we sold 1.2 million units.
By all means, Zune is an exceptional product. Even before its release, critics clamored on that Zune's DRM mechanism stifles innovation, deprives consumers of freedom and everything else under the sun. Stifling innovation and consumer freedom are buzzwords that apply to anything these days, even to non-existent products that nobody would be forced to buy. If regulatory policy is shaped by those who eagerly cry over diminished innovation and freedom at every wind gust, society will not be better off.
