A little essay on the dangers of use and overuse of the term "patent trolls."

I've started using the term myself, I must admit. Much easier than saying "holders of patents who send vague threatening letters based on weak or questionable patents in the hope of being paid off, trusting to the unfortunate incentives set up by our legal system." But I really should stop, because I suspect that for many who hear me the terms is broader, meaning, unfairly, "any small entity that sues me and does not produce things."
