HJC Hearing on Piracy on University Networks

It's an ongoing problem, and this is hardly the first-ever hearing on it, but Rep. Howard Berman (D-Cal.) will chair a House Judiciary IP Subcommittee hearing Thursday on unauthorized downloading and uploading on campus computer networks. Recently the RIAA has stepped up enforcement, seeking to work with university officials to reduce infringement and offering students discounted fines to avoid suits. I defended these actions recently on "Attack of the Show" on the G4TV network. I'll be at the hearing Thursday at 2 pm in Rayburn 2141 to hear the latest, and I'm confident Berman and ranking member Howard Coble (R-N.C.) will have informative witnesses.
