Distopian Fiction, Sadly Missing the Mark

Here's a distopian blurb I ran across, warning of a dire overly-exclusive future where no one is allowed to share books:

He had to help her--but if he lent her his computer, she might read his books. Aside from the fact that you could go to prison for many years for letting someone else read your books, the very idea shocked him at first. Like everyone, he had been taught since elementary school that sharing books was nasty and wrong--something that only pirates would do.

Anyone think we are going there? With the forces of competition and demand operating working away on our behalf? Given the overwhelming desire of authors for audiences? The costs of enforcing overly restrictive schemes? Nope. Hear again the tale of the Galambosians.
