The Milken Institure has released a study, Mind to Market: A Global Analysis of University Biotechnology Transfer and Commercialization, which is an "in-depth examination of the world’s leading universities for biotechnology research and technology transfer, meaning the ability of those universities to turn their intellectual property into commercial applications." [sic]

Among its conclusions: universities reap good returns from establishing technology licensing programs. This message must have resonated -- after the email announcement came in yesterday, I could not access the study for several hours.
