Comprehensive Copyright Bill

House IP Subcommittee Chair Lamar Smith has drafted a Copyright Modernization Act of 2006 that rolls several pending bills into one big ball of wax (or one tarbaby, if that image seems more apropos).

Sec. 204. Inquiry on remedies for small copyright claims.

TITLE III—COPYRIGHT PROTECTION RESOURCES
Sec. 301. Short title.
Sec. 302. Registration in civil infringement actions.
Sec. 303. Statutory damages.
Sec. 304. Improved investigative and forensic resources for enforcement of laws
related to intellectual property crimes.
