Comscore has released data on Internet usage in June. World-wide, 713 million people (Age 15+) accessed the Internet. Top three nations were U.S. (21.5%); China (11%); Japan (7.4%). After that it tails off - Australia is in 15th place with 1.3%. (Calculating the per capita connection rates is left as an exercise for the student.)
The data also reports on which sites are visited:
Microsoft Sites topped the list as the most visited global property in June 2006 with approximately 500 million global visitors, followed by Yahoo! Sites (481 million visitors), and Google Sites (454 million visitors). Yahoo! Sites led all global properties with 116 billion page views during June, followed by Google (84 billion page views), and Microsoft Sites (75 billion page views). Thanks to Digital Media Wire.
