The EU Strikes Again

TCS Daily says that the EU is launching an investigation of the licensiing terms for both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD. Of course, since the EU keeps the details of its investigations secret, the cause of concern is unclear

So what happens now? The world stops to adjust to bureaucratic time? Remember, the whole current Microsoft-fine mess is based on a complaint filed by Sun in 1998, Regulatory uncertainty is an investment and innovation killer in any case, and this takes uncertainty to new heights -- uncertainty over the application of an unstated standard to unspecified facts -- it belongs in the surrealism section of the Centre Pompidou, not in the marketplace.
