Trade and National Security

At the French Embassy this morning, some governmental officials visiting from Paris discussed how IP is increasingly part of trade agreements; I would concur, as would Lee Hollaar. We're hoping to have USTR's IP expert on our IP panel in Aspen. Trade is a broader subject than that, though, and increasingly is being caught up -- unhelpfully -- in concerns about national security. I discuss that on the PFF blog.
