Arrgh!

The Supreme Court today dismissed the writ of certiorari in Metabolite as improvidently granted. Details on Patently-O, which says:

Patent holders are breathing a sigh of relief with today's dismissal of LabCorp v. Metabolite -- a case pending before the Supreme Court. That case had the potential of dramatically altering the landscape of patentable subject matter -- especially relating to method patents.
Justices Breyer, Stephens, and Suter dissented, and would have found the patent invalid.

As the song says, "What a waste of money and time!"
