Glenn Reynolds reports the latest antics of state regulators, in "eBay Nation and the Golden Goose," at TechCentralStation, focusing on a North Dakota effort to force eBay participants to get state auctioneers licenses.
State regulatory bodies have always been monsters, sucking the blood out of innovators to protect existing power structures. (See the Institute for Justice's Economic Liberties program.) Perhaps their effort to hold back the Internet tide will finally result in long-needed reform.
