ATR describes the PRA's raison d'etre:
Americans for Tax Reform has created a property rights organization known as the Property Rights Alliance (PRA), which will work to bridge the gap between the intellectual and physical property rights movements. With recent court proceedings and a flurry of legislative activity on Capitol Hill, this group will now serve as a forum for those in both communities to regularly meet and discuss the most pertinent topics facing the protection of property.
