Google has made more news with Google Print by moving beyond English-language books, specifically soliciting books from Europe in other languages. This will please the French, who fear any Anglo influences related to the Internet (see their crusade against the term "e-mail"). But my interest in this news is how Google is looking to obtain these books. It didn't go to European libraries and strike deals without the approval of publishers of the books in those libraries, as it did in the U.S. Instead, it is approaching European publishers, and several in Spain, France, Germany and the Netherlands already have expressed interest.
