The latest Business Week (April 25) has a special report on "iPod Killers" that examines hybrid cell phones as a possible rival. At the moment, they do not look like much of a threat, because their capacity to hold songs tops out around 300 tracks, and the cost rivals the iPod.
But these things have a way of developing.
Also interesting -- BW says that the carriers (Verizon; Sprint; Cingular) are feeling greedy; instead of cutting price, they want to charge two bucks per song.
