Long Tail Dangers

Infectious Greed cites Eric Savitz writing in Barron's (subscription required) that the "long tail" is becoming a cliche:

About once every three or four minutes, a presenter would refer to "the Long Tail," a concept which came to prominence in a Wired Magazine article last year . . . . At one presentation, several attendees were murmuring about a new drinking game: down a shot whenever someone utters the phrase "the long tail." Had I played, I'd be dead from acute alcohol poisoning.
