According to C|Net News, the XBox game Halo 2 has sold 6.3 million copies and "has accounted for 69 million hours of game playing so far on Microsoft's Xbox Live online gaming service." At $50 a pop, that many copies cost $315 million.
It makes me realize how far behind I am. Besides Amazon and abebooks, my procrastination tools are still back in the Minesweeper age.
Upgrade (9:00 a.m.): For comparison, the domestic gross of the movie Titanic, which is No. 1, is $601 million. Only 20 movies have cracked the $300-million-in-domestic-gross mark.
